I completely agree that this would be a generally much more sensible approach
for (lib)curl, but it would probably fail the original idea of "magically" use
the same port number for the 'sftp' tool as with curl with a single config
file...
I once proposed a config enhancement idea like this for curl, but it didn't
seem to make much excitement at the time so it never went anywhere.
