Thanks for the clarification.
I see that Stefan's PR became larger, and it is probably not ready yet for prime time.
I will use a patch with my fix with 8.19.0 then to avoid crashes with set share.
The fix is very localized, so it will not affect anything else.
So, anyone who needs to avoid the crashes with set share that I reported, might want to do it as well as a temporary solution.

We mean to merge it soon, but we do not consider the problem critical enough to trigger a patch release. Then it also gets a longer time to stew and get tested until it gets released.
