I appreciate the standard and yes this is a problem on the platform, but is
outside my control. Nonetheless, I am opening a case to try to get some
mitigation on the issue with the OS developers. It is unlikely to be changed
any time soon.

Which approach should I take? #ifdef __TANDEM?
