It might be deprecated, although that's the first time I hear about it, but
there's no problem using it.
My macOS box runs 11.2.1 and builds just fine with Secure Transport with
configure:
$ ./src/curl -V
curl 7.76.0-DEV (x86_64-apple-darwin20.3.0) libcurl/7.76.0-DEV SecureTransport
