Do a whois lookup on curl.com. You'll find:
   Record last updated on 28-Mar-2001.
   Record expires on 20-Nov-2001.
   Record created on 19-Nov-1997.
Database last updated on 6-Aug-2001 21:06:00 EDT.

So, curl.com was created November 19, 1997. Someone might want to
check the web pages of the Secretary of State office in MA to
determine when Curl Corporation was incorporated. Also, the bottom of
their web page says curl is a trademark. Whoopee. More interesting if
they have registered their trademark (circle R more powerful then TM).

Oh, check out:

I don't suppose you ever *filed* any copyright papers on cURL? Check
with the USPTO to find out if they have a trademark on "curl".
