I have read all the last posts from previous months.

And I have followed all instructions. I have added an extension line as the
php.ini comments suggest. I have tried curl.so, libcurl.so.

I have read others posts. I have a working stand alone PHP with curl
support. What gives!

I never had any compile or configure problems - I have a working stand alone
PHP as a previous test/validation of the process to that point.

Anyway I have a headache - I have been at this all day and I need it working
so our head software developer can start to finish his project that is due
for a client on Tuesday.

Retiring, defeated and annoyed. :-\
