yes, on debian ia64 and on sf amd64. i was not able to reach the
debian alpha.

if i use:
  ./configure
  make

i get a curl which is not able to resolve anything, 127.0.0.1 included.
it returns always error code 6 and its error message.

if i use:
  ./configure --enable-debug
  make
 
the curl i get resolves correctly. under amd64 it also starts passing
the tests while under ia64 it still doesn't.

weird things..
