This is the curl-users list (as opposed to the curl-library).

Most Windows folks on this list use the pre-compiled windows
binary, and don't roll their own (with Makefiles or otherwise...).

I think the developers tend to hang out more on the curl-library
list.

Those that are on this list and compile stuff under windows may
use Cygwin's gcc (which uses the Unix-ish make stuff), or perhaps
one of the other non-MS compilers.

Those which use VC6 I would presume use the Makefile though...
