How to delete files with Quote command?

I've got a question about the --quote command in
relation to ftp. When using it in the following line,
it doesn't work:
curl --proxy proxyserver:port --proxy-user
username:password -O --verbose
ftp://username:password@server-address/filename -Q
"-delete filename"
I'm runnin this command under Windows NT (4.0). When I
use single quotes, the operation will be aborted. What
am I doing wrong?
