Dear Daniel,
I understand the point of you question. Hence I am running 2 Open-Source projects myself (one is quite large) and hardly find the time for requests in their feature and bug trackers. If by any chance possible, I would prefer that a member of the CURL team might take the action and I don't need to work myself into the internals of CURL. You might know that situation too well, too. :-)
