I completely agree. The state of several of our builds is rather sorry at the
moment. In addition to what you mentioned, I want to especially highlight:

  - Some Windows autobuilds builds fail due to me removing the old makefiles,
    directing all commandline-VS-builders to use the winbuild/ setup instead.
