Thanks for pointing this out!

It seems it was actually removed from git slightly over three years ago and is
present in the tarballs because for some reason the old files remained in the
local dirs (on both machines involved) - named src/version.h.dist.

I've removed them now and I've removed version.h.dist from src/.gitignore.
