I've tried this (i.e. compiling under Android) with success. Have you read
the notes in Android.mk? That's the procedure I would recommend using.
You'll need several more -I statements, for one, to get all the necessary
header file paths in there, and more entries in LDFLAGS or LIBS to get the
various Android libraries and object files. I also see some obvious errors
in that configure line, such as missing -- and extra spaces.

Try following the directions and example in Android.mk, then look at the
config.log file for clues if it still doesn't work.
