It's not on the official TODO list so far.

No, but exposing what is already in place is fairly trivial. smtp.c
right now supports plain, login and CRAM MD5.

Two worthwhile additions would be DIGEST and GSSAPI. The first one is
easy, the second one perhaps not so much.
