performance problem with new libcurl on Mac

I posted this question earlier. I upgraded from 7.10.8 to 7.20.1, I see that it take 30% more time to checkout a large set of files from an ftp server, especially on Mac(10.5.8). I am using the easy interface and synchronous dns resolver for both. I tried using the latest version with no luck. Any ideas ?
