This time, it isn't even a "soname bump" in the major number - it is still 4
on most platforms. I can't for example recall anyone mentioning anything when
I bumped it similarly for 7.18.2. How come?

Besides, I've explained my reasoning already. I did this in good faith. I make
an effort. If that's not good enough, I deserve bug reports and lectures on
how things should be done, but I DO NOT deserve to get criticized for viewing
this project as "a toy" or me being reckless. It isn't a question about me or
my attitude here, it's a question about libtool's -version-info option and how
we should use it.

I suggest you to instead step up and help me make sure we get these things
right. Suggest a checklist. A new step-by-step guidance. Whatever.
