when i was sending data on an FTP link i pulled out the net cable from the server machine. the server immediatly disconnected and showed messages on screen. OS is XP.

the client, coded by c, using libcurl, under Ubuntu, was still waiting for the response. it didn't show any error information just still the "accepting XXX..." echo on console when i opened the verbose. it seemed to keep the link for very long time.

is there any idea that i can get a return value and can be checkecd to see if there are something happended on network just like server does?

i know if i manually kick the transfer connecting from client out and libcurl will return a value which is not CURLE_OK. all i want is the same effect just when network problems occurs.
