I'm not sure what you expect of us here. You're using two ANCIENT versions and
you're asking if you can ignore an error code?

You can do whatever you think is suitable whatever libcurl returns! You
shouldn't expect us to remember much about those versions nor will we care
much about problems with them. It's simply beyond what we can handle here.
