why are you compiling libcurl? Try the package distributed with Fedora
instead. I'd recommend to install the one from updates-testing:

# yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update curl

There was fixed a bug which affects in particular multi-threaded applications:

However I don't think it's related to your problem anyway. I suggest you to
rather check code of your application.
