As with all things compared to GNU, IBM/AIX grep is inferior.

$ grep -h
Usage: grep [-E|-F] [-c|-l|-q] [-insvxbhwy] [-p[parasep]] -e pattern_list...
        [-f pattern_file...] [file...]
Usage: grep [-E|-F] [-c|-l|-q] [-insvxbhwy] [-p[parasep]] [-e pattern_list...]
