Cache in cURL poll:

[ ] Strictly validated
[ ] Full blown HTTP1.1 fuzzy logic
[ ] Don't care...

When I want a cache I prefer to use a separate one, that way
I can easily choose between wildly different types of caching,
e.g. from tinyproxy to squid, or my own perl-script special-case
cashes. I can't see that having one inside cURL would by me
anything.
