Yes. I'm a bit ashamed of admitting this, but I've never used them myself!
I've only seen them and I cloned the idea, not the exact functionality.

Yes. Well, I originally didn't add anything to the file that wasn't found in
the configure script, as it then would be 100% portable. Now, I've already
added the assumption that you set linker paths with -L, so adding -lcurl is
probably not a very big sacrifice.

Anyone else with opinions regarding this?
