There is no contradictions or related problems with the license of the
base64 source code. It is fully compatible with the MIT/X and MPL
licenses.
However, the license (which resembles the original BSD license) is not
compatible with the GPL license.

This sounds like a good idea (partly to avoid having to insert credit
for something as simple as a base64 encoding/decoding, and partly to
be forthcomming to people using GPL).
