FTP uploads

G'day,
Having trouble working out how to use pycurl for FTP uploads.
Python 2.3, pycurl 7.10.6, Windoze 98
The libcurl docs state that CURLOPT_READFUNCTION must be used for Win32
if the library is a DLL. I could easily do this in C/C++ but could
someone please explain to me how to do this in Python?
