If you can repeat this problem with pure libcurl (without the PHP binding),
I'm interested in seeing a source code doing it. (Sent and discussed on the
curl-library mailing list of course.)

Unfortunately, it seems there is no PHP team member interested enough in the
PHP/CURL binding to offer support or help to questions like this here, so you
unless a friendly user knows something you are left on your own.
