I've tightened requirements for stdbool.h header inclusion in
setup_once.h https://github.com/bagder/curl/commit/7d4ed0b1 in order
to minimize risk of not compiling due to the issue you are reporting.

Does this fix it for you, or do you still get some extra 'fun'.

BTW which version of XL C is the one exhibiting the problem?
