good to see you've made progress,

i have no idea as to how/if you should attempt to use curl for your app.

if i were you, i'd search to look at some open source media players to
get a feel for how they function/were designed.. from there, i'd look
to implement my app.

the media players already provide the ability to download, pause, go
back, replay, etc.. in particular, you want any player that does
streaming..
