I raised this in the forums, and the tech support was very professionally handled. I'm not a customer, but they accepted that it was their problem with no argument, and deserve some credit for that.

That is correct, but it might be nice to also be able to circumvent this sort of error in future.
I was looking to see if there is a wway to allow curl to make the order of sending the TYPE call, so it can be before the PASV rather than after. I'm not sure which is correct, or if both are valid - apparently many other client implimentations work the other way. Thread is at:
