I've got a folder monitoring program (myTrigger) that calls curl when
something is modified in the folder. Curl gets passed the parameters
(type of modification, name of file) and I get it to call a
database/web server, which can then work on the passed parameters. The
database can accept web service calls so I'd like to try that as an
alternative, partially to try and get round the problem of what
happens if there are spaces in the filepath.
