Bummer. This is what is included with every Mac OS X box with
up-to-date patches from Apple. :(

I will try building the latest and see if the problem goes away.

Interestingly, when I run my server on a machine with an older version
of Perl and its libraries, this old version of curl has no problems.
It's only when I run it on a new FreeBSD 5.3 system that curl hangs.
I wish I knew *why* curl was hanging, so I could pester the Perl/POE
people. I'm pretty sure that it's not curl's fault--I just don't
understand the cause of the problem.
