Stupid Mistake: I just realized that it is 3.0 instead of 3. I did a
copy and it works now.

The installation instructions talk about a Makefile.in file with the
curl download but I didn't see one and have not recompiled anything..

Is the file /usr/local/lib/libcurl.sl.3 present?

Do you perhaps need to do something special to make "dld.sl" to load
shared libraries from that path?
