Can't Resolve Host Problem

From: Eric S. Pecoraro <ericp_at_shepard.com>

I seem to be having the same problem listed at
http://curl.haxx.se/mail/archive-2003-10/0140.html

I've racked my pint sized brain to try and figure this out. The "hostip.c"
file doesn't seem to have the same code as when the prior fix was applied in
the above URL so I'm stuck.

The only way I can get cURL to recognize sub domains like foo.domain.com,
bar.domain.com is to modify the etc/hosts file. Which might be o.k., but I
have new subs being added continually.

Odd thing is, cURL will recognize the sub domains when prompted from another
server. It just won't recognize them if prompted from the server that hosts
the domain(s) (won't recognize a call to itself).

Any help would be appreciated.

My config is:

RedHat 9 (fedora)
glibc-2.3.2-27.9.7
glibc-common-2.3.2-27.9.7
glibc-kernheaders-2.4-8.10
glibc-devel-2.3.2-27.9.7
curl-7.12.0

Eric

... my apologies if this is the wrong list.
