I agree to the "most of the time" aspect. However, there are some things I
occasionally do that analyze a returned file to extract data from it to
direct subsequent transfers at a site. Thus my concern about doing it "all
on one line" - results of a transfer need to made available to non-curl
commands to direct the next curl commands.
A generalized means of doing this would be nice since there are usually
numerous means of invoking curl via scripting/programming on a system.
Even someone as poorly versed as me uses both "sh" scripts and "perl" to
orchestrate such activities.
