ares doesn't support IPv6 (yet). That is still left to get done.

I don't think libcurl needs to be concerned about bugs in underlying
functions, unless they are important to work around. Do you consider this flaw
to be important to work around? You are the only user I know of that has run
curl ipv6-enabled on Windows!
