Error with Solaris 2.6 and Curl 7.10.4

I'm getting the following error while trying to use ftps and Curl.

[root:austsrvods01] /archive # curl -kv ftps://cdsftp.cdsfulfillment.com

* About to connect() to cdsftp.cdsfulfillment.com:21

* Connected to cdsftp.cdsfulfillment.com (207.109.128.160) port 21

* SSL: error:00000001:lib(0):func(0):reason(1)

* Closing connection #0

curl: (35) SSL: error:00000001:lib(0):func(0):reason(1)

As you can see, I'm using -k so I'm not sure what else to try. Could it be
the URL I'm using? (I know it's not absolute but I get the same error if I
put anything else in there).

Solaris 2.6 with the precompiled binary package from the website. Curl
7.10.4. I have zlib 2.0.1 from the homepage (also precompiled). Also openssl
0.9.7c from sunfreeware.com

Any ideas?

Unfortunately, now my developers tell me that they need to upload via ftps
and not download so that's a whole 'nother pickle.
