Summary: ldap output is garbled

Initial Comment:
Output from ldap:// URL's is incomprehensible due to
being garbled. E.g. see the attached file
curl-ldap-output.txt, which has the output from

curl -B
"ldap://directory.hswn.dk/dc=hswn,dc=dk??sub?sn=Storner"

and compare it to netscape-ldap-output.txt which is the
output from Netscape 4.79 using the same LDAP URL.

curl -V:
curl 7.10.4 (i586-mandrake-linux-gnu) libcurl/7.10.4
OpenSSL/0.9.6i zlib/1.1.4

This is on a Mandrake 9.0 system (fully updated), i.e.
with OpenLDAP 2.0.25.
