It is there in http://curl.haxx.se/docs/install.html.
Don't know how I missed it.

Ooooooh! It is there on the website, but not in
docs/INSTALL from the tar file. Guess the files are
out of sync, somehow. (And I don't have to feel
stupid after all.)

BTW, I guess i486-ncr-sysv4.3.03 (NCR MP-RAS) and
m88k-dg-dgux5.4R3.00 can be added to the Ports
list in that document.
