Yes, running Bourne shell. The prompt is like plum:.*$
The environment is a a fairly conservative Linux environment. It's a
shared web server so I don't have root access (alas). My only access is
remote telnet. However, I've been able to install various perl modules,
for instance, without too much difficulty.
There was a core file generated. Ran the following gdb cmd:
plum:~/curl$ gdb -c core
GDB is free software and you are welcome to distribute copies of it
under certain conditions; type "show copying" to see the conditions.
There is absolutely no warranty for GDB; type "show warranty" for details.

Core was generated by `sh ./configure --prefix=/home/mydir/curl --with-ssl'.
