If you can telnet of SSH to the account, you should be able to compile cURL
using the compiler located on the Solaris box. You won't be able to
install cURL so that it is accessible by all users unless you have root
access. But you should be able to run cURL by logging into your account.

You should find out whether the OpenSSL modules are available on the
server. If not, you will have to download and compile them before you can
build cURL with SSL support.

It should be a matter of minutes. No, it does not matter what directory it
is compiled in.
