Even in curl 7.7.2 it say when using -v
something along:

* link opened
* persistent line ## 0 closed

(From my head I've seen it at work, but im home now)

In V7.4.1 it says:
SENT ....
SENT ....
 (4 lines in total)

so it seems it's even doing less.
