Hi Daniel,

I feel somehwat uncomfortable asking you all these questions and taking
up much of your time. So I must say "thanks for your support".

I may have found the problem:

I found these in the config.log file:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~---------------
ltconfig:915: gcc -c -g -O2 -fno-rtti -fno-exceptions -c conftest.c
-I/usr/local/include/openssl conftest.c 1>&5
cc1: Invalid option `-fno-exceptions'
cc1: Invalid option `-fno-exceptions'
ltconfig:1657: eval "/usr/bin/nm -p conftest.o | sed -n -e 's/^.*[
]\([BCDEGRST]\)[ ][ ]*\(\)\([_A-Za-z][_A-Za-z0-9]*\)$/\1 \2\3 \3/p' >
conftest.nm"
cannot find nm_test_var in conftest.nm
---------------------------------------
Could it be a problem with the version of the gcc compiler (I think my
hostmaster has v2.7)?
I have no clue about the second error.
What do you suggest?
Thanks Claude.
