It's a known problem at least. It is very likely a problem in the test rather than in curl, but we haven't proven that I believe. Searching for it, we can find reports on failures on test 530 many years back...

I'm trying to build curl 7.36.0 on Mac OSX 10.9.2, with Xcode 5.1.
I can build curl just fine.  But "make check" will result in a hang on test 815 every time.  I know for sure that previous versions of curl did not do this on my Mavericks machines, not even with Xcode 5.1.  (Though test 530 has been failing on OSX for some time now).
Forgive my ignorance, but I don't know what other information I should be providing.
