while a decent idea, it would require a rather drastic change in code flow - this is not how HTTP proxies are used. I'm moving this to the feature request tracker.
--- ** [bugs:#1338] [RFE] option for local DNS resolution when using http proxy** **Status:** open **Labels:** dns resolve proxy **Created:** Mon Feb 24, 2014 09:02 PM UTC by Alexander Kostadinov **Last Updated:** Mon Feb 24, 2014 09:02 PM UTC **Owner:** nobody Hello, as far as I see there is no way to make curl locally resolve hostnames when using http proxy. It is possible to choose when using socks5 by specifying desired protocol (i.e. socks5 vs socks5h) but not http proxy. Also it would be good to have curl always resolve hostnames by itself when hostname is matching an entry of the --resolve option. The above would be very useful for testing purposes.
