Summary: Host header omits port number

Initial Comment:
The Host: header is supposed to include the port number when the port number is not port 80. When using a non-standard port, curl does not include the port number in the Host header, violating the HTTP RFC.

Thanks for your report and your desire to help us improve curl!

This is not a HTTP protocol violation, it is perfectly allowed by the spec
section 14.23. It is also the result of testing as lots of sites actually
break when the default port numbers are provided, or at least they did
years ago when curl did it unconditionally.

This entry is therefore closed as rejected.
