Summary: Curl doesn't FTP empty files
Initial Comment:
Hi,
I have been searching the Curl help, homepage and google but can't find how to force curl copy empty files.
The file exists on the FTP site and I would like it to be created on the local machine, even if it is empty.
is this possible?

Thanks for the report. This is not likely to get fixed in the short term
and therefore this issue has been added to the KNOWN_BUGS document and this
bug entry will be closed. If anyone who reads this wants to work on fixing
the issue, please post your questions/patches to the curl-library mailing
list.

Thanks for the response.
I was hoping it was already implemented and i'm just missing the right
option.
I would like curl to support this since FTP does copy empty files with GET,
I just tested it), even if not on the short term.
I guess in the meantime I'll have to find a workaround or another tool to
suit my needs?

I wouldn't mind having the curl tool support this, but I've never
considered it to be an important feature and I personally have no immediate
plans to work on this.

Message:
First, not sure this is really a bug and sorry if this is the wrong place
to ask, but I could really use curl ftp-ing empty files.
If it is possible - I'd like to know how because I just couldn't find a way
to do it.
If not - is it possible to make such a feature request?
This is the command line i'm using:
curl --user user:password ftp://servername:30562/15-11-2011/COS_Groups.txt
-o "D:\DATA\COS_Groups.txt" --create-dirs --silent --show-error -w
"COS_Groups.txt"
Thanks in advance,
Mor
