Summary: new protocol
Initial Comment:
Several websites are using the new protocol "market:" to push Android based *.apk (packed) Android applications. This protocol is not found anywhere else, and so far none exist for web browsers outside the Android platform (AFAIK). This is very anoying as there is no way to get those apps, without the actual Android device. As if this is also to be used by Apple or other devices, I don't know...

Message:
This is not a bug.
The Android market protocol is a proprietary and closed protocol done by
Google. According to http://strazzere.com/blog/?p=293 it is basically a
stream over HTTP with secret magic data involved.
So, if you just figure out the details of what to send/get over HTTP, I
find it likely that curl already has the necessary functionality to support
this.
I'm closing this report.
