Initial Comment:
I would expect

curl --location --max-redirs 0 http://$url_that_redirects

to make curl return an error (47) if the url is redirected.
Instead it follows the redirect (even multiple ones).

I have attached a patch which fixes this. I am not certain
if this is the right way - but it seems to work for my
simple testcases.

Hmmm - sourceforge tells me to fill in my name and
email, but there are no fields for it. Guess here will do:

I always know it’s nearly Christmas time because I go to the Good Food
Show in Birmingham. This year I did 12 live shows in front of about 20,000

I used to play a lot of games using play money at <a

I want curl to return an error if the url is redirected, rather than
output the response. This is for use as part of a larger script.

BTW: I have a suspicion that my patch will change standard
libcurl behavior (when no options are set), but do not have an
easy way to test it.
