Summary: Curl on windows problems with too many dots
Initial Comment:
I have experienced the problem on the latest version
curl 7.15.2 (i386-pc-win32) libcurl/7.15.2 zlib/1.2.3
and first discovered it on php module for windows
libcurl/7.14.0 OpenSSL/0.9.7c zlib/1.2.3
I was trying to fetch
http://static.thepiratebay.org/downloadtorrent/3453072.
torrent/2.3272832.TPB.torrent and it would produce
timeouts through curl if you would try to open this
url through a web browser it works fine and works fine
with curl url on linux machine...
If you change the url to
http://static.thepiratebay.org/downloadtorrent/3453072.
torrent/2 then curl on windows works as well
the last part of url is just for search engine
optimization and is not really important since you
will be redirect to the same file.
".3272832.TPB.torrent" part of url seems to cause
problems
Thank you for your time

I just tried curl 7.15.1 on Windows XP on that exact URL and
it worked just fine.

simply "curl
http://static.thepiratebay.org/downloadtorrent/3453072.
torrent/2.3272832.TPB.torrent" will not work
while
"curl
http://static.thepiratebay.org/downloadtorrent/3453072.
torrent/2" will work

What's the full command line you use? I fail to see how the
number of dots in the URL have any meaning to anything. Or
are you by any chance using -O and you get a problem saving
to a file name with those dots?
