Oh, this seems to be fixed too now with https://github.com/curl/curl/commit/ea6d6205d9e13ce688afed28f6a09ade49b348d3.

Another blocker was that the CMake build didn't support Windows Unicode builds until very recently, which led to known bug 6.1 (and 6.5, which looks like a duplicate?). This is fixed with https://github.com/curl/curl/commit/95aea798dbd785c4daee2b2e24f2c8c94f3e3cf4, which is not in any public release yet though.
