This would be true if we only consider the service itself, and github
was very good up to now. Maybe the quality will survive as is some
time (although I'm not very optimistic in regard of what they did with
Nokia phones, Sublogic's Flight Simulator, LinkedIn and Skype).
However there are other hidden important points, like company ethics
and respect of privacy: just monitor the network behind an IDLE W$10
workstation and you'll understand what I mean :-( Up to now, Github
was quite all right on these points, and I thank them for that.
AFAIAC, it's more a matter of company reputation and trust in it: when
privacy is concerned, we all know M$ does not behave well in
accordance with the european culture. Even if I have nothing to hide
(and maybe I have), I hate being spied, although not possible to avoid
completely nowadays.

Sure: that's why I started this thread! Maybe this is of no importance
for the curl project, but for me, it's time to investigate for an
alternative.

P.S.: if this acquisition has been made public a bit earlier, I would
have changed some of my cURL 2018 survey answers.
P.P.S: Since I consider this intrusion as a vulnerability, I propose
we assign it a CVE-2018- number ;-)
